WRINKLE RELAXERS

Wrinkle relaxers represent a transformative approach to achieving a more youthful appearance. These non-surgical treatments, often utilizing botulinum toxin, such as Botox, Dysport and Xeomin, are designed to address fine lines and wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the underlying muscles. Widely recognized for their ability to soften facial lines and restore a smoother complexion, wrinkle relaxers offer a subtle yet impactful solution to rejuvenate and revitalize one’s appearance. Whether targeting crow’s feet, forehead lines, or frown lines, these treatments have revolutionized the pursuit of youthful radiance, providing individuals with a convenient and effective means to embrace a refreshed and revitalized look.

What Are Wrinkle Relaxers?

Wrinkle relaxers, commonly known as neuromodulators, are a type of cosmetic injectable used to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines. The primary ingredient in these injectables is botulinum toxin, which works by temporarily blocking signals from the nerves to the targeted muscles. By inhibiting muscle contractions, wrinkle relaxers prevent the formation of wrinkles and soften existing lines. They are frequently used to address dynamic wrinkles caused by repetitive facial movements, such as crow’s feet around the eyes, forehead lines, and frown lines between the eyebrows.

These treatments are minimally invasive and provide a smoother, more youthful appearance without the need for surgery. The effects typically last several months before gradually wearing off, requiring periodic touch-ups to maintain the desired results.

The Wrinkle Relaxer Experience

Undergoing wrinkle relaxer treatments is a straightforward and relatively swift experience. The process begins with a comprehensive consultation with Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank where he assesses your facial structure and discusses your aesthetic objectives to formulate a personalized treatment plan.

During the procedure, which often lasts between 10 to 20 minutes, the designated areas are cleansed, and if desired, a topical numbing cream might be applied for added comfort. Using fine needles, Dr. Frank administers Botox, Xeomin or Dysport into specific facial muscles responsible for wrinkle formation. While you might experience a mild pinch or sting at the injection sites, discomfort is usually minimal and fleeting. Post-treatment, you can resume your regular activities almost immediately. Minor redness or swelling may occur briefly at the injection sites. Over the following days and up to two weeks, the effects of the wrinkle relaxer become noticeable as the treated muscles relax, softening the appearance of wrinkles and lines.

Results typically last three to six months before the muscles gradually regain activity and wrinkles may slowly reappear. Follow-up appointments may be scheduled to assess outcomes and discuss any additional treatments needed to achieve desired results. Overall, the process is generally well-tolerated, with minimal discomfort and downtime, making it a popular choice for those seeking temporary wrinkle reduction and facial rejuvenation.

The Benefits of Wrinkle Relaxers

Reduced Wrinkles

Wrinkle relaxers effectively target dynamic wrinkles caused by repetitive facial movements, such as crow’s feet, forehead lines, and frown lines between the eyebrows. By temporarily relaxing the underlying muscles, they soften the appearance of these wrinkles and prevent them from becoming more prominent.

Preventive Measures

Beyond reducing existing wrinkles, these treatments can also act preventively. By hindering muscle contractions, they can potentially prevent the formation of deeper, more ingrained lines over time, particularly when used as a long-term treatment strategy.

Non-Invasive Solution

Wrinkle relaxers offer a non-surgical and minimally invasive approach to rejuvenating the face. Unlike surgical procedures, they require no incisions or anesthesia, resulting in minimal discomfort and little to no downtime.

Quick Procedure

The treatment is usually swift, taking only around 10 to 20 minutes to administer, making it convenient for those with busy schedules.

Natural-Looking Results

When properly administered by a skilled practitioner, wrinkle relaxers can provide natural-looking results that maintain facial expression and movement while softening the appearance of wrinkles.

Temporary Effects

The effects of wrinkle relaxers are temporary, lasting around three to six months. This temporary nature allows for flexibility in treatment and adjustments to ensure the desired outcome without committing to long-term changes.

Versatile Application

Besides addressing facial wrinkles, wrinkle relaxers can also be used to address other concerns, such as reducing the appearance of neck bands or creating a more defined jawline.

Are Wrinkle Relaxers Right for You?

Determining if wrinkle relaxers suit you involves considering a few key aspects. These treatments can be beneficial if you aim to reduce facial lines caused by movements like crow’s feet or frown lines. It’s important to note that wrinkle relaxers offer temporary results lasting about three to six months. If you prefer non-invasive procedures with minimal downtime, these treatments might align with your preferences. Consulting an experienced practitioner can offer personalized advice based on your goals and facial structure, helping decide if wrinkle relaxers are the right choice for you.

Watch inside Jason Tartick’s @jason_tartick neuromodulator and EMSCULPT NEO appointment at PFRANKMD.

For most men, there is a different approach when it comes to neuromodulators. It’s not about removing every wrinkle, it`s about making them look and feel rested and relaxed.

With patients starting treatments and neuromodulators at a younger age, a little bit goes a long way. Our patients need targeted optimization, not a lot of “anything anywhere.”

@emsculptneo delivers radiofrequency to destroy the fat and tighten the skin while the HIFEM® stimulates muscle contractions in the treatment area. By delivering optimal energy in a short period, you can achieve more fat reduction and muscle growth.

Here is my perspective on the over commoditization of injectable treatments for young adults and minors.

This continued conversation stems from the recent announcement that starting on Oct. 1 in the United Kingdom, patients seeking anti-wrinkle or filler injections will need to verify their age.

The age restriction for the two cosmetic procedures reportedly comes at a time when tens of thousands of teens have undergone treatments to smooth or plump their features.

Stocking up on these healthy foods might just be the key to getting that youthful, dewy glow.

BY ISADORA BAUM for @eatthisnotthat

It`s inevitable: we all get older. And as we age, our skin becomes more prone to wrinkles and sagging. It`s a sad truth, we know. Yet, you can slow the progression of wrinkles and fight aging by eating a diet that`s rich in Whole Foods that promote skin tautness and collagen production and fight free radical damage, too.

"I think as with all things with aging, a lot of it is about what you don`t want to eat rather than what you do," says Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank, Celebrity Cosmetic Dermatologist in New York City. "Most importantly, you want to minimize and avoid foods that will age you quickly, such as sugar, dairy, white flour, alcohol, and foods with gluten, which are inflammatory."

But if you`re looking to prevent wrinkles, Dr. Frank recommends following a Mediterranean diet, and one that is extra high in fruits and vegetables, as these brightly colored foods are packed with antioxidants and will promote collagen healing, he explains. To help you load up on the foods to best keep you wrinkle-free, here are a couple of staples that will satisfy your belly, add color to your plate, and of course, keep your skin dewy and youthful.

The Best Ways to Handle Crow`s Feet
All the tricks you need to soften those smile lines.
BY LAUREN HUBBARD @lhubbard315 for @townandcountrymag

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐰`𝐬 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐭?

When it comes to creating wrinkles, your eye area is sort of a perfect storm: thin skin that`s more susceptible to environmental damage like UV rays and pollution, fewer oil glands which leave the skin drier and less supple, and lots of movement from facial contractions like smiling and squinting helps creases to form.

𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦?

Short of cutting facial expressions out of your repertoire, "Not really," says dermatologist and PFRANKMD founder Paul Jarrod Frank, "Cosmeceutical products can help to soften them, but as long as we use our natural expressions, the muscles will contract and eventually create a wrinkle."

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐰`𝐬 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐭

To take a more firm stance against your loss of firmness, some of the usual suspects can lend a helping hand. "Neuromodulators such as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin," Frank suggests. "These treatments inhibit the movement of the muscle which in turn will reduce the likelihood of a crease or crow’s feet from forming."

I Tried A `Pro-Aging` Makeover At 35--& The Results Are Insane!
by @justine.schwartz for @shefinds

Celebrity cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank is flipping the script with his new book, “The Pro-Aging Playbook.” He even calls aging a “blessing.

What Is ‘Pro-Aging’?
“Pro-aging” is a term coined by Dr Frank as a response to the ubiquitous phrase “anti-aging.” The term refers to Dr. Frank’s mission to inspire and educate people on how to embrace the aging process. We all needed this!

“We all want to look and feel our best, so with this book, I really just wanted to motivate people to start thinking of the aging process as more of a blessing and something to be excited about,” Dr. Frank said. Well, that’s a change for the beauty industry.

“It’s about using all of these different cosmetic and health and wellness tips that I share to help find the best version of yourself, whatever that means for you.”

My Skin Issues

At 35, I was experiencing a “little bit of everything”–dark spots (made worse by birth control), fine lines, acne scars and redness.

Dr. Frank believes in focusing on skin quality first. “No matter how much Botox or filler I inject, it’s not going to get rid of every single line or wrinkle. It’s more important to focus on improving sun damage, rosacea, pigment, uneven skin texture, tightening and toning,” he says in his book. “That’s what’s going to get you great skin now and in the long run.”
After inspecting my skin, he suggested four treatments: Excel V & Laser Genesis, Clear + Brilliant and Vivace Radio Frequency-Delivered Microneedling. @vivaceexperience

The Results
The most immediate results I saw were on on the dark spots–it was incredible. Within hours of the procedures, my dark spots appeared like coffee grounds on the skin and then were gone completely after a few days. I’ve had these dark spots for years–which Dr. Frank was the first person to tell me were from birth control–and so to turn back time like that was amazing.

The One Thing Dermatologists Say Works Better Than Botox by Justine Schwartz @justine.schwartz for @shefinds
__
Celebrity cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank just released his second book–“The Pro-Aging Playbook”–in which he provides insights about his techniques for creating the best skin at any age.
While Dr. Frank does promote non-invasive facial rejuvenation, injectables, and even plastic surgery, there is one thing he maintains is absolutely most effective than all of the above: taking good care of your skin!

"I always focus on skin quality," Dr. Frank explains. "Youthful skin is clear skin. Clear skin is beautiful skin. No matter how much Botox or filler I inject, it’s not going to get rid of every single line or wrinkle." Interesting!

So, what can you do? Focus on more pressing skin issues, he explains. "It’s more important to focus on improving sun damage, rosacea, pigment, uneven skin texture, tightening and toning. That’s what’s going to get you great skin now and in the long run."

And he even has a hack for getting more youthful, fuller lips without resorting to lip fillers.

"You can use certain lip glosses to plump, consider coming in for lip blushing or permanent lip lining," he says. And don’t forget to wear sunscreen protection on your lips to maintain your perfect pout, he reminds. #fallreading #youthfulskin #proaging #skinwithin #theproagingplaybook #connect #restore #nourish #move #readinglist #bookclub #pfrankmd

“THE FUTURE OF BEAUTY SCIENCE IN 2020” by MAUREEN SHEEN @maureensheen for @crfashionbook “@Subnovii, a wrinkle eraser device, will be one of the hottest and exciting technologies for 2020,” says Dr. Frank. The first FDA-approved plasma pen, this unique device offers a patented wavelength and power combination that works to erase wrinkles, tighten skin, and remove benign lesions safely and effectively. “With the ability to treat small localized areas, the Subnovii enables us to treat skin safely without the need for other laser-based technologies that would otherwise require full face treatments, more extensive anesthesia and prolonged recoveries,” says Dr. Frank. “Subnovii will benefit those who suffer with crepe-y wrinkles, and those who are seeking non-surgical, minimally invasive options.” @cartessaaesthetics

“EMTONE is the most advanced cellulite treatment on the market, a first-of-its-kind, non-invasive treatment to improve the appearance of dimpling on the skin,” says Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank, Chief Medical Officer and Founder of the PFRANKMD Brand. “Utilizing a revolutionary combination of powerful thermal radiofrequency and targeted pressure energy, it’s the only device that addresses all five causes of cellulite with no downtime and immediately visible results.” It can be used on all body types with no BMI or skin color restrictions, and is best for targeting the buttocks, posterior and outer thighs, and abdomen. Preventative Botox Can Help Stop Shallow Lines from Becoming Full-Fledged Wrinkles, But Won`t Entirely Prevent Them

"It’s always inevitable that some wrinkling will occur – no one grows old wrinkle-less. I always tell people to start using Botox or other neuromodulators when you start seeing the wrinkles," says Dr. Frank. "I don’t recommend doing it prophylactically if you don’t have any wrinkles, but certainly it’s easier to clean your room before it gets too dirty. So, don’t use age as a gauge, use whether or not you are starting to see the lines." - @drpauljarrodfrank #InStyle #InStyleMagazine #AntiAgingTreatments #neuromodulators #cosmeticdermatology #celebrityskin #skinguru #bestversionofyou #pfrankmd
