PFRANKMD Acne Protocol

After months of wearing masks, I saw an uptick of patients of all ages coming into my office with skin problems. This is where the term Maskne comes in. Maskne is a form of acne caused by wearing a mask. This is something that is affecting everyone’s day to day life, because even if you treat the acne, you are still putting the mask back on.

These breakouts are happening due to occlusion under our masks. We are sweating under there, and pores are being clogged. To prevent this from happening, we need to keep our skin cleansed and take advantage of any time when we can let our skin breathe.

The Protocol is a medical-grade treatment using laser therapy, cryo therapy, and a prescription based topical antibiotic. The treatment focuses on reducing and preventing active breakouts, as well as treating leftover hyperpigmentation and scarring.

The Maskne Protocol has three stages. We start with the NeoeEite by Aerolase, which addresses inflammation, red/brown marks, and regularly used to treat all forms of acne. Then we use the cryo machine to help calm down active redness and inflammation. Right after the two treatments, we coat the patients face in PFRANKMD Clinda Lotion, our formulated antibiotic face cream to clear and prevent acne. We put this product on right after the acne treatment, because the skin is open and ready to absorb the product.

The benefits of the PFRANKMD Clinda Lotion is its key ingredients, Clindamycin and Niacinamide.

Clindamycin is a potent topical antibiotic that helps eliminate and prevent the future growth of acne bacteria. Niacinamide helps visibly repair inflammation and damaged skin.
