RENUVA
PFRANKMD is proud to introduce Renuva, the first and only off-the-shelf solution that replaces age-related volume loss with the body’s very own fat.
What is Renuva?
Renuva is an FDA-cleared, permanent bio-stimulatory injectable treatment used to restore volume in the face, hands, and body. It is an allograft adipose matrix, meaning it’s derived from purified donated fat. At the molecular level, it is composed of triglycerides, phospholipids, free fatty acids, and water.
How does Renuva work?
It works by stimulating the body to naturally produce more fat cells, which fill in the treated areas. Unlike other fillers, Renuva stimulates the growth of your own fat cells and healthy new skin with improved tone and texture, because it contains natural collagen, proteins, and growth factors. This results in an increase in volume and a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s injected into the subcutaneous layer of skin, where it acts as a scaffold for new collagen and other tissue to grow.

What areas can be treated?
The most common areas for treatment are the face, hands, chest, buttocks, or any indentations on the body that need volume restoration from fat loss. It can also be used to restore fat in the face for patients who have lost significant volume as a result of weight loss, aging, or even buccal fat removal. When fat transfer is not an option for patients because they simply don’t have enough fat to move, Renuva is recommended as it allows us to fill indentations in the face and body.
How many treatments are necessary and how often?
The rejuvenating effects take a few weeks to develop, with results lasting up to 2 years. Generally, 1-3 treatments are required. This varies based on the area being treated and treatments are done four to six weeks apart.
