How Do I Start
The first and most important step to a healthier version of you is deciding to make a difference. By giving us the privilege to be involved in your healthcare we will do our best to make the process as streamlined as possible for you. Do not hesitate to ask questions.
Step 1- Contact our office at 212-327-2919 to schedule an appointment and arrange for testing and consultation with our doctors. At that time we will give you all the appropriate paperwork to acquire your health history and review our policies. Details about our office, our program and our physicians can be discussed with one of our medical assistants that will become your point person.
Step 2- We will arrange for you to have a full blood test workup. This can be done at our office during the diagnostic testing appointment or at a conveniently located blood lab near you. In this case, we will send you a lab requisition that you can take to any Quest or LabCorp. Lab. You must have nothing to eat or drink except water for 8-12 hours before the test. The results will be sent to our office 7-10 days later.
STEP 3: Initial Consultation & Biomarker Testing
Two sets of appointments will be made for you. The first will be arranged with our technicians who will perform a series of non-invasive biomarker tests on you. For your convenience, blood work can be drawn at that time. This appointment is generally performed in the am, so the body and mind are fresh for testing. Expect to be in the office for approximately 1-2 hours.
The next appointment will be made several days to a few weeks later where you will consult with Dr. Macaulay for 1.5-2 hrs to review your personalized biomarker report (which you will keep for your education), answer your questions, assess your symptoms, in addition to taking a detailed medical history and a physical exam. If indicated, a detailed treatment plan and recommendations will be provided with follow-up arranged.
As part of our program you will also have an appointment to consult with Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank for skin cancer screening, your detailed sun photography report, and to review any cosmetic or medical skincare concerns. This can be schedule on the same or separate day as Dr. Macaulay’s consultation.
Any additional consultations that you may require such as nutritional or exercise training sessions will be arranged separately depending on a patient’s needs.
STEP 4: Treatment
At the end of your consultation, you and your physician will determine the course of treatment, if any. Treatments can range from simple lifestyle recommendations to vitamin and supplement therapy to bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. Custom-compounded medications can be shipped to you the next day and every 28 days thereafter from MedQuest Pharmacy.
STEP 5: Follow-Up
If you are placed on hormone replacement therapy, after 6 weeks of treatment, you will have your first follow-up consultation with Dr Macaulay. You will need to get a follow-up blood test. Your physician will discuss the effects of the program and adjust your dosages accordingly. You will repeat this process after 2-3 months and again every 6 months thereafter, depending on the situation. Details of medication and office maintenance costs can be discussed with the office and are detailed on our site. If you are not put on hormone replacement, repeat biomarker testing and follow up can be arranged a la carte, usually 6 months later.
