Ultherapy® - Non-Invasive Skin Tightening

First came fillers in the eighties, then lasers, then Botox for wrinkles—and there’s always been surgery. Now there’s Ultherapy®—a face and neck treatment that creates a brand new category in non-invasive aesthetics.

The Ulthera® System affords a degree of control, efficacy and consistency not seen to date with other tissue tightening devices. The Ulthera ultrasound energy is used to first see the layers of targeted tissue and then treat at a prescribed depth--with unprecedented precision.

For the first time ever, New York dermatologist Dr. Paul Frank offers Ultherapy® that enables us to direct sound waves to the same tissue addressed in surgery- the muscle and deep connective tissue. Ultherapy® will heat the tissue to lift and tighten loose skin without cutting or disrupting its surface. Besides the immediate visible effects of lifting and tightening with the Ulthera® device, there is also a progressive improvement in skin elasticity with the creation of new collagen. Ultherapy® lifts, tightens, and tones mild to moderately loose skin, often replacing or putting off more aggressive surgeries in the right candidate. Most areas of the face and neck can be treated as a whole or in specific parts depending of the needs of the patient. Ultherapy® will lift the brow, reduce excess skin on the lids, tighten the neck and jawline. Using DeepSEE™ acoustic technology, Ultherapy® allows direct visualization of the targeted areas of treatment, ensuring a consistent delivery of energy that will maximize efficacy and minimize the risks typically seen with other devices or surgery.

Ultherapy® is a 30 to 60 minute procedure that immediately contracts tissue and stimulates a healing response to restore memory to the skin. Although patients are awake, it is usually performed under mild sedation to ensure patient comfort. Because we are a AAAHC accredited surgical facility, we offer our patients a broad spectrum of sedative and analgesic options to accommodate the various tolerances of procedure discomfort. Ultherapy® requires no special recuperation allowing patients to return to full activity the next day. Typically Ultherapy® only takes one treatment to get a meaningful response.

Patients enjoy some initial effect immediately following the procedure, but the ultimate lifting will take place over 2-3 months. The Ulthera® device uses ultrasound energy and therefore is color-blind, allowing us to treat all skin types and even tanned skin. As with all of our procedures, Ultherapy® is physician performed in our practice, ensuring patient safety and efficacy. For those patients who are reluctant to get surgery, Ultherapy® offers a ‘no downtime’ approach to improving mild to moderate skin laxity in a meaningful way.
