Mole Removal
Many patients request removal of benign lesions on the face and body. More commonly than not, patients will request laser removal. In general, only superficial lesions can be removed with laser. Most moles, or nevi, have deeper pigment that requires minor surgical treatment. On occasion, multiple treatments with Nd:Yag laser or Alexandrite laser may be effective. In order to remove a mole, it will often be necessary to perform a shave excision or incision removal of the lesion requiring stitches and a small scar. There is unfortunately, no magic wand for mole removal. Often good cosmetic results can be achieved with the available options.
