Combination Treatments with Fraxel
One of the most common questions that we receive in our New York City practice is whether or not Fraxel laser treatments can be combined with other procedures. The simplest answer is yes. It is most common that any given cosmetic concern has more than one clinical approach and often the best results are achieved with a combination of several minimally-invasive options. For example, acne scars often come in several shapes and sizes. Utilizing the Fraxel Dual or Fraxel Repair laser, we often use fillers and/or the Cross technique to get the best results.
In most cases, if the patient desires, the procedures can both be performed on the same day. Other treatments such as skin tightening (Thermage) are usually separated as are other laser devices for pigmentation and capillaries (Medlite and VBeam). Once the problems are defined, a treatment regimen can be outlined to maximize results and minimize downtime.
Fortunately, Dr. Frank and the 5th Avenue Dermatology Surgery and Laser Center has a full range of laser oriented and injectable treatment options for a variety of medical and cosmetic maladies. Although combination treatments are common, it is essential that they be performed by a physician experienced in these procedures. As a leading cosmetic dermatologist and laser surgeon in New York City, Dr. Paul Frank, upon consultation, can determine which combination of procedures are necessary for each patient.
