The 5th Avenue Dermatology Surgery & Laser Center is proud to announce our surgical accreditation by the AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care) which certifies and monitors safety standards across all surgical sub-specialties. In performing the vast array of surgical procedures, our office accreditation provides the safety and organization of a hospital environment with the convenience of in-office patient care. In an effort to expand not only our range of services, it is always a priority to improve the quality and safety of care we provide. As an addition to the medical and cosmetic dermatology services we offer, I am happy to welcome Dr. Steven Wallach to my practice. As a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine specializing in reconstructive procedures of the face and body.

With the ongoing advancements in technology, there are several new procedures and devices to introduce and discuss. Once again, it is always my pleasure to offer you my expertise and be part of your lives. Smartlipo MPX/VASER Liposelection

After 3 years of development, Smartlipo has finally released a second generation device that has the power and reliability missing from earlier devices. Dr. Frank is one of the few physicians in the country to introduce this platform. As a renowned leader in minimally invasive liposuction, he is the only physician to utilize both the Smartlipo MPX and VASER liposelection in his tumescent liposuction technique. All procedures are still performed only under local anesthesia in our surgically accredited facility. Thermage NXT
Dr. Frank was one of the first physicians in the country to introduce Thermage as the first non-invasive skin tightening device. After six years of practice and development, we are pleased to introduce the Thermage NXT device. A brand new platform, the NXT is faster, more effective, and less painful than prior models. In addition, we use the NXT effectively throughout the body for skin tightening and cellulite treatments.
Summer Coming to an End
As the sun sets on another great summer, the damage of our follies remains. Fall is the time to rid of those brown and red patches, fine lines, and widened pores that steal the luster out of our skin. Photofacials and Fraxel treatments are the best way to ensure smooth clear skin this winter. After erasing the sun damage that stains the skin, we can now simply and safely thicken the skin and hide the veins with Radiesse filler. Fractional CO2 resurfacing (Fraxel Repair and Active FX laser) With an effort to provide the dramatic cosmetic results of prior CO2 resurfacing treatments without the risk, these new lasers are in the early stages of development and practice. To date, Dr. Frank has determined that in order to get the dramatic results that are above and beyond the already established Fraxel III devices (non-ablative), it is unfortunately necessary to cause significant downtime and trauma. As with all technologies, we are enthusiastic in its development, but are not currently recommending it to our patients until the technology matures. Evolence The new filler Evolence gets FDA approval. Touted as the new, longer lasting collagen, this product is much thicker and comes from a pig skin source. Given the potential risk from animal origins and the various options already available to us, Dr. Frank is very wary of the potential complications of this product and is not currently recommending it to patients. New is not always better!
